An inside look at OWP: Week 1 Experience

Seeing all the furniture that we have been specifying for years has been a such a great experience! It's like a kid going to disneyland for the first time.

Aside from the furniture, meeting the designers that we have worked with as well as some of the sales and coordinators has been such a pleasure :)
Being able to see how they work and what they go through on a daily basis is such is such an elightening experience. You can say that it is kind of like 'A Day in the WORK LIFE of an OWP Designer'.

Aside from all the work talk, we also had the opportunity to get to know everyone on a more social level which has been going really great. Everyone in OWP has been so nice and accomodating. The funny thing is that even people from other departments/Teams knew who we were because of our 'A Day in the Life of a Proview Studio Employee' videos.

We were also given the chance to see the actual installations of some of the projects and go through an installation training at the warehouse where we can try to install some components.

All in all, our first week has been going great!:)

Home Away from Home

Welcome to our official "Home away from home".
The house is located at 474 North Bayview, Sunnyvale CA.
We'd like to thank Mr. Jeff Crocker and our OWP friends for preparing this fabulous place.
We'll be staying here for two fun and busy weeks ahead.  Let me give you a quick tour around and inside the house...

Our porch is just right in front of a school yard. It's such a pleasant sight everyday...

Inside you'll find a large living room with the most comfortable couches.
We love to watch our favorite "Friends" episodes here, while having midnight snacks.

There is even a fireplace to keep us warm :)

Just beside the living area is the dining room, our favorite place in the house :)

Seating area and a credenza, also a part of the dining room.

Everything we need were basically provided for us by OWP, we feel very special :)

Look at all these yummy food!
I get to share this bedroom with Mitch.

This is Ginger's Bedroom.

Last but definitely not the least (cause it happens to be the biggest room!)...
Jok's bedroom

There are two comfort rooms, a smaller one which must be the powder room

and a bigger one, with the toilet and bath area...

We also have a Laundry room right beside the kitchen area.

A guest house is found at the back of the main house where we stay.
That happens to be Ms. Triccie and Luca's place.

Every morning, we bring Luca to his daycare and then go to work together :)
Isn't that fun!? OWP invaders coming right at you.

See you guys! - Pam

Chill out

The OWP people prepared our two-week long itinerary...
But just as how they have thought of the interesting, meaningful and useful things to do while we are here, they have been very thoughtful, kind and big hearted to share their time with us, think of places to see, eat out and have fun (shop till we drop) and go with us even after work...😉

Natural Bridges

Santa Cruz Boardwalk (nice and windy) brrrrr 😄👍

Eat fried twinkies, oreos and funnel cake ( yummy!)

Gigantic and yummy pizza!

Buffalo Wild Wings! and shopping!!! ('til closing time 😊)

Of course, special thanks to Kari, Nicole and Jen for going with us to the Great Mall 😍
Forgive us 😞 Huhuhu...we were so lost we forgot to take pictures....waaaah...we are so sorry!

With our friend Lesley at In-n-Out Burger

DAY ONE

This image greeted us as we entered the One Workplace building. It was a huge building that used to be a Paper warehouse and then retrofitted to be this awesome showroom/office that it is today. Joanne, welcomed us with a warm smile and showed us directly to building's cafe area to settle in. The cafe was just around a couple of meters away from the lobby. It was a colorful area filled with mostly furniture from which One Workplace represents, Steelcase. People were really nice, everybody were greeting us as they passed.

We were having a bit of a breakfast when Lesley arrived and showed us around. It was nice seeing all the furniture that we have been working with, in person finally. I personally like this lounge chair called the Hosu, and it was everything I expected it to be!

A formal introduction and tour then started with Graham. He had a nice little presentation for us regarding what One Workplace is all about. We then toured the whole office, walking around and learning all about the areas and the people working there.

We were then introduced to, if not all, most of the Designers we work with. I've been working with One Workplace for a little over a year now and putting a face in front of the e-mails and phone calls was really great.

After the introductions, we were supposed to sit-in and shadow the Designers we usually work with. I, myself is fortunate enough to have been asigned to StudioOne. It's the Design Conepts division of One Workplace that consists of Helen, Vivian, Jenevieve, Sandra, and, Robert whom I directly support. This division is headed by Ivy Cheuk, who along with team tackle mostly One Workplace's design-oriented projects.

It was fun witnessing how they start from receiving a project to conceptualizing it to actually working on the presentation. Helen and Vivian were nice enough to let me in the process and being receptive of my ideas. We ended the day having three options to work, and present with.

It was a very good day.
